2001 Hinckley Picnic Boat Classic Downeast for sale (2023)

INTRODUCTION:

SALUDOS is a rare, transom door Hinckley Picnic Boat Classic that underwent a comprehensive restoration/refit in 2019-2020 at Hinckley Yachts. Purchased by a multiple Hinckley owner in 2019 (and a veteran of many successful extensive refits), he worked closely and carefully with Hinckley and his own team to create a tasteful and modern version that stays true to her heritage and legacy. Often considered the first boat in the Hinckley Refit Program, she continues to be featured as the prime example of how an imaginative owner and a skilled crew can update (and dare I say improve) the iconic and venerable Classic.

Nearly every system, surface, and component (both visible and behind the hatches) has been carefully considered for improvement, updating, or simply cleaned and preserved, readying her for the next 20 years of her life. A caretaker at heart, her owner knows that we must be responsible stewards and looks forward to her next owner continuing the tradition.

SALUDOS features a Yanmar 6LY440 electronically controlled engine, Garmin electronics suite, handpicked Perennials fabrics, stunning Painted Turtle Green Awlgrip paint, and is professionally maintained during the season and in the winter by a highly integrated team of individuals. As a 2001 Classic, she has all the updated and improved features and designs of a late-model classic- sliding pilothouse windows, anchor locker with windlass, and numerous minute design improvements. She is without question the nicest and most complete Classic ever listed.

Below are two outlines of SALUDOS; one showing her primary features and the second showing the significant items completed during the refit and past four years of ownership. History prior to this is available upon request from the listing broker.
